Ghana coach CK Akonnor could hand Bordeaux defender Gideon Mensah a start against South Africa on Monday night in their second 2022 FIFA World Cup Group G qualifier.
The ex-Ghana captain has hinted at ringing changes against Hugo Broos after a beige performance in the 1-0 win over Ethiopia at the Cape Coast Stadium last Friday.
Mensah has been tipped to replace Reading new signing Baba Rahman who produced an average display against the Walyas.
The left back has been in fine form for his French Ligue 1 side since making that loan move from Red Bull Salzburg.
He has started and excelled in all three matches played for Vladimir Petkovic’s side.
