50 Cent is an American rapper, actor, and businessman. He is well-known for his influence in the hip-hop industry and his work as an actor. He has been described as a “master of the nuanced art of lyrical brevity.”

Jackson was born in the Borough of Queens, New York City, on July 6, 1975,  and was raised in the South Jamaica neighborhood by his mother Sabrina until her death in a fire when Jackson was just 8 years old. Jackson revealed the fact in an interview that his mother was a lesbian.

50 Cent started selling drugs as a teenager in the 1980s during the crack epidemic. He later pursued an acting career, and in 2000 he recorded Power of the Dollar for Columbia Records, but days before the scheduled release he was shot, and the album never came out.
