Afenifere, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, and Senator Femi Okunronmu, the Foremost leaders of a pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group all attended the Labour Party, LP, presidential campaign rally in Ogun State on Saturday.
The leaders of the Yoruba group were present at the campaign rally to welcome Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), and his running mate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, the LP’s National Chairman Julius Aburea among other party bigwigs.
Addressing the campaign rally, Adebanjo called Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) a failure
He called on Bola Tinubu to withdraw from the presidential contest and join hands with Peter Obi, stressing that the northerners on who he draws confidence will fail him.
The leader of the group said that they are behind Peter Obi just as all the leaders of the progressive movement are. He said there are some fraudsters who carry themselves about as Yoruba and do not love the country.
He added that Yoruba people do not take things that are not there and that a Yoruba has been at the helm of the country’s affairs before.
Adebanjo said Atiku is taking Tinubu for a full, and that he needs to be told that the Hausas will not vote for him so he should come to join Peter Obi.
