Hearts of Oak Coach Slavko Matic Convinced GPL Title Race Not Over Despite RTU Defeat

Slavko Matic, the head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak is adamant that his side is not out of the title race in the Ghana Premier League.

The Accra-based club fell to a 1-0 defeat against Real Tamale United on matchday 16 of the domestic top-flight league.

A former player of Hearts of Oak, Manaf Umar, scored a brilliant goal that handed Real Tamale United a 1-0 victory on Sunday night.

The defeat puts the Phobians fifth on the league log with 25 points after 16 games.

Accra Hearts of Oak is six points behind league leaders Aduana Stars, but its Serbian manager is insistent that his side is not out of the title race.

In a post-match interview, he said that it is not over because there are a lot of games, about 18, to play and the team still has a chance. He called on the team to believe more and work harder.

Matic confessed that the defeat is painful but is looking forward to making amends in the match.
