Kingsley Schindler is racing against time to be fully fit ahead of his side’s key match on Saturday, though he had started in their 2-0 loss to VfL Wolfsburg.
According to FC Köln, the forward missed the start of training on Tuesday due to an illness.
There are issues surrounding Kingsley Schindler’s inclusion in the game at FC Union Berlin, which has been confirmed by FC Köln manager Steffen Baumgart at a media briefing on Thursday.
Steffen Baumgart said they plan to take him with them when he starts training tomorrow.
It was announced in January 2019 that the player would leave Kiel after the season and sign with FC Köln who gained promotion to the Bundesliga later the season.
Schindler was loaned to Hannover 96 in August 2020 for a season and returned to FC Köln after his loan spell expired.
Kingsley Schindler has made 19 appearances in the German top flight this season.
