Black Stars midfielder, Thomas Partey has paid tribute to his former Black Stars teammate, Christian Atsu.
Christian Atsu’s death was confirmed a fortnight after he was trapped under the rubble of his collapsed apartment building as a result of a magnitude 7.8 earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria in early March.
Partey who has been very instrumental in his side’s 3-2 victory over Bournemouth at the Emirates, paid tribute to the former Newcastle United player after he scored a goal in the match.
Earlier in the day, the one-week funeral observation of the Chelsea FC winger was held, with many former Black Stars players gracing the occasion.
It was confirmed by the family at the event that the former Black Stars winger will be buried on March 17 with his funeral slated to be held at the forecourt of the State House in the capital.
FIFA, CAF, Ghana FA and former and current players have all condolences to the family of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] best player.
Partey and Atsu both featured for Ghana at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
