Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) Executive Council Member, Nana Oduro Sarfo, has made claims that the appointment of Chris Hughton as Black Stars technical advisor gave the FA the space to study him before handing him the job permanently.
Chris Hughton was announced as the new head coach of the Black Stars in February and will be in the dugouts for the first time as Ghana coach when his side faces Angola on 23 March.
Oduro Sarfo told Joy Sports revealed that Hughton was interested in the Ghana job, especially after three persons from the FA spoke to him one-on-one.
According to him, after speaking with him, they decided to offer him the role of technical advisor so they can monitor him from close range.
He confessed that he did not know anything about Chris Hughton until he arrived in Ghana.
Chris Hughton will be unveiled as the new Black Stars head coach on Monday in Kumasi ahead of the beginning of his tenure against Angola.
