Southampton Coach Hails “exceptional” Ghanaian Defender Mohammed Salisu

Manager of Southampton Football Club, Reuben Selles, has rained praises on Black Stars’ defender, Mohammed Salisu for what he terms as his “exceptional” performances for the club so far.

Touching on the player’s performance in a pre-match press conference ahead of his side’s clash with Brentford in the English Premier League, Selles said Salisu is a player who can play as a left-back and also in his natural position as a center-back.

Selles said Sali [Salisu] can play in his natural position as a center-back from the start or as a left-back. I think Sali has been exceptional in all of our time.

He added that Salisu has the chance to play tomorrow…he will have his chance to step in from the bench and perform and do as well as he knows how to do.

Mohammed Salisu has not played three consecutive matches for Southampton due to injury. He is however fit to play but has not been named in the matchday squad against Brentford.

Black Stars defender Salisu has had a fine season with Southampton and has reportedly sparked interest from Newcastle United.
