Desmond Elliot, a famous Nigerian actor turned politician has retained his Surulere constituency seat which means he will keep representing them at the Lagos State House of Assembly.
The actor was seen in a video making the rounds on the internet rejoicing and being thankful as he celebrated his victory.
The jubilant Desmond Elliot was seen high-fiving his equaling excited supporters while he took the opportunity to taunt his opponents who he believed worked towards his downfall.
He was challenged by fellow actor, Olumide Oworu, who took on the ticket of the emergent Labour Party in the constituency.
Desmond Elliot contested on the ticket of the incumbent All Progressive Congress (APC) and had come in for criticisms from citizens and some of his industry colleagues because of some utterances some consider unacceptable he made in parliament.
Prior to the governorship elections, netizens including some of his colleagues vowed to vote him out of power.
