Controversial Ghanaian critic, Bongo Ideas has said that Mohammed Kudus does not deserve all of Ghana’s praise, particularly from the media.
Kudus is the hottest Black Stars player right now, thanks to his outstanding performances for both club and country.
The 24-year-old midfielder demonstrated his talent during the Qatar World Cup, scoring two goals, as well as for his club Ajax, where he has scored 20 goals this season in all competitions.
However, Bongo Ideas, who always seems to find something to criticise in everyone, stated on Twitter thread that, Kudus isn’t special enough to merit Ghanaians’ praise because the country has had better players than him.
According to him, the Ajax midfielder don’t have what it takes him to be the same level of former Black Stars players such as Stephen Appiah, Michael Essien, Laryea Kinsgston, Tony Yeboah, and Abedi Pele possessed when they were on the pitch playing.
“Can someone tell me what makes Mohammed Kudus so special that y’all give him all this much undue national hype & attention? 1/3
“Is he the only Black Stars player, or the single best thing to happen to our football or a special breed of a player that we’ve never seen before? 2/3
“If you’ve witnessed the skills, panache and dexterity of the likes of Stephen Appiah, Laryea Kingson, Tony Yeboah, Abedi Pele and even Michael Essien, you wouldn’t be so much impressed.
“Bruh, mediocrity aside, there’s nothing so extraordinarily special about him! 3/3 — he tweeted.
