The Black Stars, Ghana’s senior male national team, has in recent times been suspect in front of the goal.
It is due to this deficiency that former Ghana playmaker, Awudu Issaka, has called for the recall of forward Felix Afena-Gyan to the Black Stars.
He is of the view that the young striker is the solution to Ghana’s goal-scoring challenge.
Awudu Issaka’s call has led to the positing of various views on the subject of Afena-Gyan leading the line for the national team.
He told Angel TV that, Afena-Gyan should be recalled to the Black Stars because he possesses some qualities that the current strikers don’t have.
Felix Afena-Gyan who currently plays for US Cremonese declined a call-up to the national Under-23 team for the 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying games against Algeria.
The 20-year-old has refused to join the Black Meteors squad to face Algeria in back-to-back games even though the club approved his release.
He decided against playing for Ibrahim Tanko’s team despite the Ghana Football Association communicating all travel arrangements to the Italian club.
