Famous Nigerian stand-up comedian, Basketmouth, known privately as Bright Okpocha has revealed that he started his entertainment career as a rapper before veering into comedy upon some wise counsel.
The award-winning comedian announced that he will be releasing an album that features a Ghanaian music star. He said Ghana is one of his favorite destinations in the world due to the warm reception he gets when he visits.
Speaking to Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, Basketmouth revealed that Shatta Wale is actually on his next album and it is just interesting how everything is happening.
Basketmouth described Shatta Wale as his brother and recounter the immense support the dancehall artist gave him. He also expressed gratitude to Shatta Wale for blessing him with a collaboration which he revealed was done pro bono.
He stated that he has known Shatta Wale for a while but they have never had the opportunity to talk properly, so he told him he was working on an album and he would love for him to jump on it.
So he sent the song to him and he loved it. He was done with it in a few hours and sent his verse and he nailed it.
The comedian revealed that Shatta Wale said something interesting; he said it is for free, and I do not need to pay him royalty or anything. Take it, it is yours.
He concluded that nobody has ever done that before and to think it is a Ghanaian brother doing that made him very humble, and that he is loving what is going on now in his life.
