Ghana’s U-20 women’s football team, the Black Princesses, is set to begin preparations for the upcoming WAFU Zone B Women’s U-20 Cup of Nations set to come off in May with a 34-player squad.
All the players who have been called are expected to report to the Ghanaman Centre of Excellence in Prampram in Greater Accra on Sunday 2 April.
The Black Princesses last featured in a competitive football match in October 2022 when they competed in the U-20 FIFA Women’s World Cup held in Costa Rica.
The technical team of the Princesses led by coach Yussif Basigi will look to assemble a formidable squad that will compete against Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Niger, Nigeria, and Togo.
The competition is an eight-team tournament expected to bring the best female talents at the youth level.
The tournament will be held in Kumasi from 20 May to 4 June and will be the maiden edition of the WAFU Zone B Women’s Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
