Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey is without a doubt that only good preparations can result in Black Stars winning their first Africa Cup of Nations tournament in nearly four decades.
Partey contributed immensely to the team’s qualification to next year’s edition in Cameroon. However, qualification is not a big deal to Ghanaians who are desperate for the trophy.
The last time Ghana were crowned champions of Africa was in 1982 and Partey knows he and his colleagues are expected to end the drought.
“The expectation starts from our good preparations,” the Arsenal midfielder reiterated.
“We have to start preparing now, we have to go from one game to another.
“First we have to prepare for the Africa Cup and make sure we have to win our friendly games before the Africa Cup starts.
“So there we will be able to build our confidence and through hard work, for sure everything is possible so I think they [fans] have to relax, they have to be calm and keep supporting us,” he added.
Black Stars will know their group opponents when the draw is conducted next month.
