Ghana captain Andre Ayew has named ex-Black Stars skipper Asamoah Gyan, John Mensah and Michael Essien in his best eleven players to have ever played with.
Despite the rumours of a feud between him and the country’s all-time leading scorer, Ayew chose Gyan as his favourite forward.
Conspicuously miss in his team is Stephen Appiah, a player he idolizes.
Former Ghana defender John Mensah lines up alongside Cesar Azpilicueta, Gabriel Heinze and Benjamin Mendy in defence.
Meanwhile, in midfield there is Michael Essien and Lucho Gonzalez with a trio of Dimitri Payet, Hatem Ben Arfa and Samir Nasri forming a diamond behind the forward Asamaoh Gyan.
In between the sticks is Steve Mandanda.
Ayew’s technical team is made up of Didier Deschamps and former Marseille duo Mathieu Valbuena and Mamadou Niang.
