South Africa Would Accept A Draw Against Ghana – Coach Hugo Broos

South Africa coach Hugo Broos has targeted victory against Ghana, but thinks a draw is not a bad result for Bafana Bafana.

The two countries face off on matchday 2 of 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Johannesburg on Monday evening.

Bafana Bafana drew their opener against Zimbabwe in Harare and come into the encounter two points behind the Black Stars who are currently top of Group G after beating Ethiopia fortuitously in Cape Coast last Friday.

A draw would see South Africa remain two points behind Ghana with four matches to go to determine who wins the group and qualify for the final round of the qualifiers.

“If you want to qualify, you have to win your home games, so we will try,” Broos told reporters on Sunday.

“(But) even if we draw, we are still in the running, because Ghana will move to four points, maybe Zimbabwe will also move to four. We’d still be in the running.

“Every game is different. You can’t live in the past. I want to see tomorrow if the players are ready to perform at this level. Ghana are the best team in the group.

“We wanted to win (against Zimbabwe), but okay we didn’t. Tomorrow we try again. But what will be the result tomorrow I don’t know.

“Maybe against Ethiopia I will need to make some changes. It’s a young team, they need games at this level.”

Broos also confirmed that there are no new injury problems and everyone will be available for the game against the Black Stars.

“Everybody is fit. Today everyone is in training, there will be no absentees tomorrow.”

The match will be played at the FNB Stadium with kick off set for 4 pm local time.
