The Ghanaian attacker scored a trade mark curler to get his side leveled in the 63rd minute.
Al Sadd were down at the break after Sebastien Soria shot the hosts into the lead in the 39th minute.
But a strong second half performance saw Ayew level before Brazilian attacker Guilherme Dos Santos gave them the lead in the 78th minute.
Algerian forward Baghdad Bounedjah hit the final nail in Qatar SC’s coffin with a late goal as Al Sadd made it two wins in two matches.
Ayew was replaced by Ahmed Sayyar with seven minutes remaining.
The Ghana captain joined the Qatar champions in the summer transfer window after leaving Swansea City at the end of last season.
