Ajax manager Erik Ten Haag has expressed delight in Mohammed Kudus’ return from injury.
The Ghana international marked his injury comeback with a goal against Fortuna Sittard in the Dutch Eredivisie on Tuesday night. Ajax thrashed Sittard 5-0 at the Offermans Joosten Stadion.
Although, Ten Haag is frustrated with the 21-year-old’s niggling injuries, he was satisfied with his return.
“It’s a nightmare for that boy. If you come to a club and you get seriously injured in the first few minutes of the Champions League. That lasts the whole season, you are behind the facts,” said Ten Hag in a post match interview.
“Then you start a new season in good spirits. Then you get another nasty injury in mid-July and you are behind the facts again. He is an introverted boy, who quickly becomes isolated. We did everything we could to help him.
“To a certain extent, he succeeded. Fortunately, he also did a lot himself. The process remains tedious in the end. It is good that he scored.”
