Moldova-Based Edmund Addo Earns Maiden Black Stars Invite Ahead Of Zimbabwe Clash

Sheriff Tiraspol midfield dynamo, Edmund Addo has been handed his maiden Black Stars call up ahead of the 2022 World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe next month.

The 21-year-old has been outstanding in the Moldovan League and the UEFA Champions League in the ongoing campaign.

The former FC Senica midfielder raised eyebrows with his displays in Europe’s elite club competition, helping Sheriff Tiraspol to their first ever group stage appearance.

He has been a vital cog for manager Yuriy Vernydub’s side as they remain undefeated in the Europe this season.

Tiraspol sit third in the Moldovan National Division League despite playing three matches less.

Edmund Addo started his career in Ghana with Mighty Cosmos before leaving to continue his trade abroad with FK Senica in Slovakia.

He joined Sheriff Tiraspol in the 2021 summer transfer window.
