Ghana will be without two injured goalkeepers Richard Ofori and Abdul Manaf Nurudeen for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying doubleheader against Zimbabwe.
Ofori hasn’t recovered from a suspected thigh injury he suffered during Black Stars defeat to South Africa in Johannesburg.
While Nurudeen, the 22-year-old based in Belgium, is out nursing a hernia injury.
Their forced absence has led to the call-up of a new goalkeeper, Jojo Wollacott who is first-choice goalkeeper at English fourth-tier club Swindon Town.
The 25-year-old joins Lawrence Ati Zigi, and two home-based goalkeepers Lawrence Ati Zigi and Ibrahim Danland in the provisional squad for next month’s games.
Between the four goalkeepers, Ati Zigi will likely start in goal, having established himself in recent times as Ofori’s successor.
The Black Stars will take on the Warriors on Saturday, October 9, at the Cape Coast stadium on matchday three of the qualifiers before traveling to Harare three days later for the reverse fixture.
