Cape Coast Airport Will Be Constructed At All Cost – Akufo-Addo

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo–Addo has reaffirmed his promise to build an International Airport in Cape Coast, the Capital of Central Region.

Osabarimba Kwasi Atta II was informed by the Paramount Chief Oguaa Traditional Council that everything is in place for the start of the project.

This commitment was made by President Akufo–Addo on Monday, October 18, when he visited the Oguaamanhen at the palace in preparation for his two-day Central Region tour.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP), which was launched in Cape Coast in 2020, announced the airport project.

Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bwumia announced the project to increase the region’s tourism potential.

Ten months into his second term, there are no signs of the project.

President Akufo–Addo assured the Oguamanhen’s Palace crowd that sod will be cut by the end of the quarter 2022 for the project to start.

He stated that if his new timelines were not mine, then the Cape Coast people should hold Kwaku Ofori Asianmah, Minister of Transport, accountable.

“But I know how committed he has been in seeing this project come to fruition,” President Akufo-Addo observed.

Although the President admitted that there were two options for the location of the airport, the government had been considering the Cape Coast option. However, the president settled on the latter.

He promised a facelift to the Cape Coast Metropolitan Hospital and said that he would charge the Ghana Health Service (GHS), when he returns to office to inspect the facility, even though it is not one of the Agenda 111 flagship projects.
