World Cup Qualifiers: Ghana To Qualify With Any Win Over South Africa In Cape Coast

Ghana is now in the middle of the 2022 World Cup destiny in their own hands. They must defeat South Africa on Sunday at the Cape Coast sports stadium to be able to advance to the next round in qualifying rounds.

Any win against Bafana Bafana at Cape Coast will be enough to ensure a top in the standings for Ghana and also qualify for the play-offs.

Black Stars are three points further back than the Group G leaders South Africa following the 1-1 draw with Ethiopia and Bafana’s win of 1-0 against Zimbabwe today, November 11.

South Africa have 13 points while Ghana second in the group having 10 points. If Ghana wins, Ghana the Black Stars will move in the same position with the Bafana Bafana.

Whoever tops the group will be decided by goal difference.

A win of 1-0 is sufficient for the Black Stars to overtake Bafana in the standings according to the total goals achieved.

Both teams will have the same goal differential (+4) if Ghana beat South Africa by one goal. However, they will be able to score more goals. Black Stars will have more goals achieved (7 vs 6).

The two teams scored six goals over five games.

In the case of South Africa, all they need to do is to frustrate Ghana and grab just a point.
