Asamoah Gyan, said that 17-year-old Dreams FC winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku is his best athlete in the Ghana Premier League.
According to the former Black Stars captain, the AFCON U20 Most Valuable Player is a star with great potential, hopes to maintain his form in the top flight.
In an interview with Asempa FM, the forward who is still looking for his first club extolled the talents in the teenager.
“I think he’s the best player in the league right now, Fatawu is the best player in the league. I think he’s ready, he’s ready to compete,” Gyan told Asempa FM, as quoted by Ghanaweb.
“It is my prayer that he continues this way and you know for everything consistency is key. Some players can start on a high but going forward then you see them declining.”
Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has been exceptional during his time in the Ghana Premier League following an incredible start to the season for Dreams FC.
The striker has netted four times in five matches for the Dawu club, which is based in Dawu since the club’s loan deal from Steadfast FC.
His impressive performances have led to him being called to the senior national squad and played his first game during the World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe in October.
Issahaku gained notoriety after he helped the Ghana U20 team win during the Africa Youth Championship earlier this year.
It was not too far away for him to join Liverpool during the transfer window in the summer, but the deal fell through at the final minute.
