Former Egyptian Coach Hossam El-Badry Reprotedly Interested In Black Stars Job

Hossam El-Badry is reportedly interested in the Ghana Black Stars coaching vacancy after Milovan Rajevac sacked.

The former Egyptian coach is interested in becoming the next Black Stars coach, as he is said to have made contacts in Ghana concerning the job.

Milovan Rajevac was sacked on Saturday, January 22, by the Ghana Football Association after his abysmal performance with the Black Stars at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

The West African powerhouse eliminated from the tournament at group stages after getting only a point from their 3 games in group c.

They lost their opening game by 1-0 to Morocco, draw 1-1 to Gabon, and lost 3-2 to the Comoros.

This is the Comoros first time qualifying to the AFCON, and they lost their 2 group games against Morocco and Gabon without scoring a goal, but ended up disgracing Ghana 3-2 in the last match.

And this was the first time the four times African champions have crashed out of an AFCON without a single win, and the first time they’ve exited at the group stage since 2006.

With this disgraced and bad record, the Ghana FA sacked Milovan Rajevac, and they have begun searching for an interim manager to take charge of the team before their playoff matches in the World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria this March.

But according to local sports, the former Egyptian coach who qualified the Pharaohs to the ongoing AFCON, but was sacked in September 2021 after three years in charge, has contacted his partners in Ghana, asking them to inform the GFA of his interest.
