Mohammed Salisu has finally agreed to put on the Ghana shirt as he will receive his first national call up to play for the Black Stars in the FIFA World Cup play-off against neighbouring country, Nigeria.
The Southampton defender, who has turned down countless Black Stars call up citing reasons that he is not yet ready, has now agreed to represent Ghana at the international level after Alhaji Grusah contacted him which became a topic of national interest.
Salisu became a topic of discussing this week after the King Faisal owner who was sent by the GFA to speak to him said the player questioned him if he would advise him to play for Ghana if he was his son.
But the good news is that he has finally agreed to play for Ghana, according to his uncle, Yakubu Ahmed.
“He will be playing for Ghana soon. He has assured us that he will play in the World Cup qualifiers,” Yakubu Ahmed told Kumasi-based Sikka FM, as quoted by GhanaWeb.
“He cleared the air about his absence in the AFCON but assured of availability for the World Cup qualifiers,” the uncle added.
