Gordon Francis Lee was an English footballer and football manager. He played in 120 league matches during his 12-year stint within the Football League, before going to more success as manager. A right-back during his playing days, Lee moved from Hednesford Town to Aston Villa in the year 1955.
He spent the next 11 years playing for the “Villans”, winning a Second Division championship medal in 1959-60, a League Cup winners medal in 1961, and a League Cup runners-up medal in 1963. Then he moved towards Shrewsbury Town in 1966, where he made the switched from coach to player.
When his management career ended, he settled down to retirement in Lytham St Annes, and enjoyed the game of golf as well as walking.
Gordon Francis Lee was born on the 13th of July 1934 at Cannock, England, and die on March 8, 2022, at the age of 87.
