Diego is a professional tennis player from Argentina. He has Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry.
While growing up he played tennis at Club Náutico Hacoaj which is a Jewish-Argentine sports club for Jews. This is because Jews were not allowed in other sports clubs in the city of Buenos Aires at the time.
In order to cater for his tennis expenses, Diego and his mother sold bracelets at his junior tournaments. He has three siblings; two male and one female. He is nicknamed “El Peque” meaning “Shorty” in Spanish.
