Born in Haskovo, Bulgaria on 16 May 1991, Grigor Dimitrov is a professional tennis player who plays under the flag of Bulgaria.
At age three he held his first racket his mother gave him and at five he started playing on a daily basis.
His father started out as his coach, but he had to switch coaches because he needed to improve in other conditions.
Grigor turned professional at the age of 16.
Dimitrov became the highest-ranked tennis player ever in the history of Bulgarian tennis after he was ranked by the Association of Tennis Professions at world No.3 on 20 November 2017.
He became the first Bulgarian man to win an ATP Tour singles title when he won the Stockholm Open in 2013.
Grigor has eight ATP Tour singles titles under his belt. He has a strong one-handed backhand and is coached by Dante Bottini.
