Aamir Liaquat Hussain was a Pakistani politician, columnist, television host and comedian who was born on July 5, 1972, in Karachi, Pakistan.

Hussain was a top ranking TV anchor and has been listed three times in The 500 influential Muslims worldwide, and was among 100 popular personalities of Pakistan.

He has been a member of the Pakistani National Assembly since August 2018, having previously served in the National Assembly from 2002 to 2007 and also as the Minister of State for Religious Affairs from 2004 to 2007.

Amir has been embroiled in controversies surrounding his academic qualification.

The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan in 2006 declared  the Bachelor of Arts degree in Islamic Studies Liaquat obtained from the Trinity College and University as fake and unrecognized.

Aamir Liaquat Hussain’s brother Imran Liaquat is his only sibling. They were born to their parents, Sheikh Liaquat Hussain and Ghousia Mehmooda Sultana.

Their father, who was born in 1929, and he died on the 23 September 2009, was a Pakistani Politician who from 1997 to 1999 was a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan.
