Kim Jong-un is a North Korean who is the leader of the Workers` Party of Korea and the Supreme Leader of North Korea since 2011.

He was born on 8 January 1983, making him the first North Korean leader to have been born after the country’s founding in 1948.

Jong-un is reported to have attended the Liebefield Steinhölzli state school in Köniz, Switzerland under the guise of the son of a North Korea embassy employee. He used the name Un-Pak.

Jim was said to be shy as a child and was very good at sports. He is said to have been a big fan of NBA star Michael Jordan whom he spent a considerable amount of time pencil sketching.

The North Korean leader is reported to have acquired a degree at Kim II-sung University and another as an Army officer at the Kim II-sung Military University.

Kim Yo-jong

Kim Yo-jong is Jong-un’s younger full sister. She was born on 26 September 1987.

Yo-jong is the Deputy Department Director of the Publicity and Information Department of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

She has been married since 2014 to Choe Song who is the son of one the most powerful men in North Korea.

Kim Jong-nam

Kim Jong-nam was the eldest son of the former ruler of North Korea Kim Jong-il. He was born on 10 May 1971 in Pyongyang.

Considered the heir parent prior to 2001, he fell out of favor when he was said to have embarrassed his country by attempting to visit Disneyland in Tokyo with a fake passport.

Kim Jong-nam was exiled from North Korea somewhere in 2003. He was assassinated in Malaysia on 13 February 2017 with the nerve agent VX.

Kim Jong-chul

Kim Jong-chul was born on 25 September 1981. He is the older full brother of Kim Jong-un.

He was at a point in time the deputy chief of a leading division of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

Jong-chul was overlooked for the position of Supreme Leader of North Korea, with the position going to his younger sibling.

Kim Sol-song

Kim Sol-song is the daughter of North Korea’s former leader Kim Jong-il and Kim Young-sook. She was born on 30 December 1974.

Sol-song is a Lieutenant colonel in the North Korean People’s Army and attended Kim Il-sung University.

Kim Hye-kyung

Kim Hye-kyung is the oldest child and daughter of Kim Jong-il. She was born in 1968 during his relationship with Hong Il-Jong (which lasted from 1966 to 1969).

She attended the Pyongyang Namsan School. Her current position and status are not known.
