Famous rock band, The Rolling Stones has canceled their upcoming performance in Amsterdam after singer, Sir Mick Jagger tested positive for Covid-19.
The band announced that their Johan Cruijff Arena performance would be rescheduled for another time, presumably when the singer is healed. They added that they are “deeply sorry” for the situation.
The 78-year-old singer also thanked his fans for their “patience and understanding.”
A statement released on behalf of the band said Sir Mick Jigger showed symptoms of Covid and tested positive upon arrival at the stadium.
“The Rolling Stones have been forced to call off tonight’s concert in Amsterdam at the Johan Cruijff Arena, following Mick Jagger testing positive after experiencing symptoms of Covid upon arrival at the stadium… The Rolling Stones are deeply sorry for tonight’s postponement, but the safety of the audience, fellow musicians, and the touring crew has to take priority.”
The band had planned to play 14 shows in 10 European countries on their Sixty Tour. They will also be honoring all tickets purchased by fans when the show is rescheduled.
