Born on April 7, 1983, in Valls, Spain, Andrea Fuentes Fache is a Spanish retired synchronized swimmer. Her sister was synchronized swimmer Tina Fuentes.
With four Olympic, 16 World Championship, and 11 European Championship medals, she is the most decorated swimmer in the history of the Spanish national team.
Alongside Arantxa Sánchez Vicario and Mireia Belmonte, her four Olympic medals also make her the most decorated Spanish female Olympian of all time.
Working alongside Reem Abdalazem, Andrea is currently the USA senior national team head coach.
Andrea and Reem have a pre-established work relationship, having worked together in synchro for four years.
During the 2022 World Aquatics Championships in Budapest in June 2022 in which the USA team was competing, Andrea was poolside coaching.
Artistic swimmer Anita Alvarez sank to the bottom of the pool after she fainted and Andrea dove in to bring her to the surface.
Medical checks after the rescue showed that Alvarez had apparently recovered and planned on continuing to compete.
Speaking about the incident on Spanish Radio, Andrea Fuentes revealed that Alvarez fainted due to the effort expended during her routine. “She only had water in her lungs, once she started breathing again everything was OK,” she said. “It felt like a whole hour.

Fuentes has two children. Her first child, Kilian Cano Fuentes (son) was born in 2014. Her second child is her daughter Sira Cano Fuentes who was born in 2017.
Spanish gymnast and also an Olympian Victor Cano is their father. Their parents got married in 2013.
