Lauren Laverne Appreciates Fans Following Death Of Her Mother Which Forced Her To Pull Out Of BBC’s Glastonbury Coverage

In the wake of her mother’s passing this past weekend, Lauren Laverne has released a statement to express her gratitude to the public.

After her mother Celia passed away on Friday, the 44-year-old presenter was unable to host the BBC’s coverage of Glastonbury, which was set to begin on Saturday.

Lauren posted an update on her personal well-being on social media on Sunday morning. In an Instagram post, the broadcaster shared a picture of herself cuddling Celia when she was a child and thanked her fans and loved ones for their support.

“Hey everyone. I just wanted to say a massive thank you to the thousands of people who have taken the time to send such lovely messages of support to me and my family. Yesterday I sent my husband and kids back to the festival (on the basis that my Mam would have driven them there herself if she could) and spent the day with my brother, his family and our dogs.”
