Born on 17 May 1991 in Sydney, Australia to Hungarian parents, Johanna Konta is a British former professional tennis player who used to represent Australia until 2012.
She has four WTA singles titles under her belt and on the IFT Women’s Circuit, she has won 11 singles and 4 doubles titles.
Konta was introduced to the game of tennis on the Northern Beaches of Sydney as an eight-year-old. She attended the Sanchez-Casal Tennis Academy in Barcelona at the age of 14. Her stay at the academy was for 15 months.
While she was at the academy her parents relocated to Eastbourne in England.
After gaining her British citizenship in May 2012, Johanna switched her sporting allegiance from Australia to Britain.
Konta turned professional in 2008 and has gone through the hands of coaches like Esteban Carril, Wim Fissette, and Thomas Högstedt.
Konta who is a former British No.1 attained her highest career ranking of world No.4 in the singles competition on 17 July 2017.
