Although R. Kelly will be in his 80s when he is released from prison, there are still worries that the elderly man would continue to pose a threat, particularly to children and as a result will be subjected to a number of stringent restrictions and undergo treatment.
The 55-year-old singer who’s been handed a 30-year term for federal sex crimes according to reports will receive mental health treatment after his release as mandated by Judge Ann M. Donnelly. Doctors said he will undergo therapy for an undisclosed sexual issue and that he must avoid all interaction with anyone who is younger than 18.
Due to his many criminal sex acts, prosecutors have dubbed the famous singer as a threat to society and have been ordered by the court to also declare his status as a sex offender to anyone who chooses to live with him.
He will only be permitted to interact with people under the age of 18 if they are family members or if they are present in a therapeutic setting with a “responsible adult.” The same goes for interacting with those who have been found guilty of sex offenses. Additionally, his probation officer would need to first authorize each of the aforementioned possibilities.
