Dominic Thiem was born on 3 September 1993 in Wiener Neustadt, Austria.
He is an Austrian professional tennis player.
The Association of Tennis Professionals ranked him as high as world No. 3 for the time in March 2020 making him the second highest ranked Austrian tennis player in history behind Thomas Muster who is a former world No.1.
Thiem won the 2020 US Open to become the first male born in the 1990s to win a Grand Slam singles title and the first Austrian to win the US Open singles title.
Thiem who turned professional and is currently being coached by Nicolás Massú is said to possess some of the game’s biggest groundstrokes and is a baseliner who has added some variety to his game over the course of his career.
He won the 2020 Austrian Sportsman of the Year award, the fourth time a tennis player has won the award since its creation in 1949.
