Victória Fyódarauna Azárenka was born on 31 July 1989 in Minsk, Byelorussian SSR, Soviet Union.
She is a Belarussian professional tennis player. On 30 January 2012, she became the world’s number 1 singles player for the first time and had held onto that position for a combined total of 51 weeks.
Azarenka became the first Belarusian player, of both sexes, to win a Grand Slam singles title when she won the 2012 and 2013 Australian Open. She has 21 WTA titles under her belt.
Azarenka was an Olympic singles Bronze medalist at the 2012 London Olympics.
Victoria whose tennis idol is former German tennis star Steffi Graf moved to the United States from Belarus at the age of 15 in order to train.
She turned professional in 2003 and is currently being coached by Maxime Tchoutakian.
Nike sponsors Azarenka’s clothing and footwear. She also has an endorsement deal with RedBull.
Victoria lives in Boca Raton, Florida.
