Amber Heard’s Appeal Over ‘Improper Jury Service’ In Johnny Depp Trial Rejected

After losing the defamation case against Johnny Depp, Amber Heard has had all of her post-trial motions denied by the judge.

Heard’s attorneys asserted earlier this month that the jury’s conclusion that she had slandered Depp was unfounded and that an improper juror had served on the panel during the trial.

The jury problem was irrelevant, according to Judge Penny Azcarate on Wednesday, and Ms. Heard was unable to establish her prejudice.

“The juror was vetted, sat for the entire jury, deliberated, and reached a verdict. The only evidence before this court is that this juror and all jurors followed their oaths, the court’s instructions, and orders. This court is bound by the competent decision of the jury” she said.

According to reports, Amber Heard’s lawyers claimed that Johnny Depp “proceeded solely on a defamation by implication theory, abandoning any claims that Ms. Heard’s statements were actually false”
