Ryu So-yeon Parents: Cho Gwang-ja, Ryu Chang-hee

Ryu So-Yeon was born on 29 June 1990 in Seoul, South Korea. She is a South Korean professional golfer who plays on the LPGA Tour and on the LPGA of Korea Tour.

So-Yeon is the 11th number 1 ranked golfer in the Rolex Rankings; a feat she achieved on 26 June 2017 by winning her 5th LPGA Tour title at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship.

The wins at the 2011 U.S Women’s Open and the 2017 ANA Inspiration have made her a two-time major winner.

Ryu turned professional at the age of 17 and won her first competition at the American Cactus Tour, an event she won by six strokes.

So-Yeon has a degree in sports business from Yonsei University.
She did not play collegiate golf because she was already competing for full-time on the LPGA Tour.

Cho Gwang-ja and Ryu Chang-hee are the parents of Ryu So-Yeon.
