Donald Arthur Mattingly is an American former first baseman in professional baseball, coach, and current manager of the Miami Marlins in Major League Baseball. He was born on April 20, 1961.
Mattingly attended Reitz Memorial High School in Evansville, Indiana, and was chosen in the amateur draft by the Yankees in 1979.
He made his Major League Baseball debut with the Yankees in 1982 after playing four seasons in Minor League Baseball, and after a productive rookie year in 1983, he became the team’s primary first baseman.
Six times, Mattingly was selected for the American League All-Star squad. He won nine Gold Glove Awards
He played for the New York Yankees for the entirety of his 14-year career, earning the nicknames “The Hit Man” and “Donnie Baseball.” He later spent five years as the Los Angeles Dodgers manager.

Taylor was drafted in the 42nd round of the 2003 Major League Baseball draft by the New York Yankees, and played in 24 games for the Gulf Coast Yankees in the rookie league. Taylor retired from baseball in 2005 after only 58 professional at-bats.
Preston was chosen in the supplemental round of the 2006 Major League Baseball draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was traded to the Cleveland Indians in September 2010 . He was subsequently released by the Indians at the end of spring training.
