Garbiñe Muguruza Blanco was born on 8 October 1993 in Caracas, Venezuela.
She is a Spanish professional tennis player who in the singles competition reached a career-high of world number one ranking by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) and world number ten in doubles.
Muguruza has ten singles titles under her belt, including the 2016 French Open and the 2017 Wimbledon Championships.
Muguruza who turned professional on 2 March 2012 and is currently being coached by Conchita Martinez began playing tennis at the tender age of three.
She started training at the Bruguera Tennis Academy near Barcelona after her family moved to Spain from Venezuela when she was six years old.
Muguruza is an aggressive player with powerful groundstrokes. She is a member of the Spanish Fed Cup and Hopman Cup teams.

Igor Muguruza and Asier Muguruza are Garbine’s two older brothers.
