Anett Kontaveit was born on 24 December 1995 in Tallinn, Estonia. She is an Estonian professional tennis player.

Kontaveit made history by becoming the highest-ever-ranked Estonian player when on 6 June 2022 she was ranked by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) as world number two.
She also became the youngest person ever to win the Estonian Championships when she took the title in 2009 and defended it the following year.
