He was an assistant coach of the Sacramento Kings in the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Carril is famous for his three decades spent as the head coach of Princeton University and his use of the term “Princeton Offense”.
He earned an all-state selection while at the Liberty High School in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania where he played basketball.
He went on to play collegiate basketball with Lafayette College in Easton.
Carril was a member of the f Delta Tau Delta International Fraternity while at Lafayette College.
He served in the military during the Korean War. He returned to serve as junior varsity coach ninth grade Pennsylvania history teacher at Easton Area High School.
