Philip Alfred Mickelson was born on 16 June 1970 in San Diego, California.
He is an American professional golfer who currently plays LIV Golf.
Mickelson has introduced to golf by his maternal grandfather who was a caddie and received golf lessons from his father before he started school. He attended the University of San Diego High School before going to Arizona State University in Tempe on a golf scholarship.
Mickelson turned professional in 1992 and has gone on to win a total of 57 tournaments. He has 45 PGA events which include six major championships. He became the oldest major championship winner in history at the age of 50 years, 11 months, and seven days when he won the 2021 PGA Championship.
He reached his highest ever rank on the official World Golf Ranking at world number two on 11 February 2001.
Mickelson was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2012.
