She is a Croatian-Australian professional tennis player.

Tomljanovic who is a big fan of basketball started playing tennis at the age of six and moved to Florida at the age of 13 for training purposes. She is currently been coached by Fernando Martinez and Rene Gomez.

Partnering with Christina McHale, Alja won the 2009 Australian Open girls’ doubles title.
