Famed American football coach Darrell Mudra has died.
Mudra was born on 14 January 1929 in Omaha, Nebraska.
Nicknamed “Dr. Victory”, he served as the head football coach of the University of Northern Iowa, Eastern Illinois University, Florida State University, Western Illinois University, University of Arizona, North Dakota State University, and Adams State College.
The 2000 College Football Hall of Fame inductee graduated from his hometown high school Omaha South High School earning letters in football and basketball.
He is on record to have won 70 percent of his games.
He went on to attend Peru State University where he also played football as a fullback.
Mudra was unknown to have always issued instructions from press boxes instead of the sidelines.
He died on 21 September 2022.
