Artis Leon Ivey Jr., professionally known as Coolio, was born on 1 August 1963 in Monessen, Pennsylvania.
He was an American rapper, producer, actor, reality TV star, and entertainer.
Coolio came to prominence in the mid-90s with the release of his hit song “Gangsta’s Paradise”.
He won a Grammy Award on the back of this song.
Coolio died in Los Angeles, on 28 September 2022 at the home of a friend. He was 59.
