Gianpiero Ventrone was born in December 1960 in Napoli, Italy.
He was an Italian football fitness trainer known widely for his work with Juventus Football Club.
Ventrone had two spells with the Old Ladies of Italian football, first joining legendary Italian football manager Marcelo Lippi from 1994 to 1999 where he helped Lippi fill the Juventus trophy cabinet.
He was again the fitness trainer for the Italian national side that Marcelo Lippi led to world cup glory in 2006.
Ventrone, who is known as “The Marine” had a fitness methodology that usually left players gasping for breath, and was revered and loved by both coaches and players alike.
He had been battling leukemia for a while now but could make it on Thursday 6 October 2022 at the age of 61.
