American business magnate, software developer, investor, author, and philanthropist William Henry Gates and his wife Melinda gates have announced bringing their 27 years of marriage to an end.
The couple made this shocking announcement via their official twitter handles.
According to a statement from the couple they are going their separate paths because they no longer believe they can grow together as a couple in the next phase of their lives. Their statement shared by Bill Gates on his official Twitter handle reads;
“After a great deal of thought and a lot of work on our relationship, we have made the decision to end our marriage.
We have raised three incredible children and built a foundation that works all over the world to enable all people to lead healthy, productive lives,” the statement says. “We continue to share a belief in that mission and will continue our work together at the foundation, but we no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in this next phase of our lives.”
