Famous American comedian, Kelly Monteith best known for his role in the written and starring in BBC comedy show Kelly Monteith has passed away at the age of 80.
The Anglophile Channel, a Los Angeles-based production company that collaborated closely with the honorable comedian, announced Monday that Monteith had passed away.
According to the channel’s statement, “It is with great sadness that The Anglophile Channel announces the passing of our dearest friend and teammate, award-winning comedian/host, Kelly Monteith.”
Monteith is regarded as one of the first US comedians to receive his own BBC series, making him groundbreaking in his own right. His show aired on the prime tv network from 1979 until 1984.
According to Chortle, the performer passed away after suffering two “massive” strokes in February 2021 that left him speechless.
Throughout the crisis, his ex-wife Caroline stayed at his side at Cedar Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, and she eventually brought him into her home.
